Remember last spring (2007) when we got a newsletter in the mail from Minimed and it spoke of the Seal. The one that would be “coming soon”. You know that little creature of an animal, the cute ones? Arf Arf? The ones you always see the commercials for, “Save the Seals”. The cute little white fluffy ones that you’d just love to have for a pet. Are you not following me? It would make sense if you weren’t following me because Minimed isn’t going to sell us seals, at least not the white fluffy cute ones, but they’re obviously not selling us the other seals either. The ones that would be “coming soon” (to a theatre near you) in summer of 2007.
Ok, seriously, the Seal was supposed to be a waterproof case for our pumps. We were supposed to be able to wearing them while swimming (yes, swimming, as in I’m training for a triathlon and I’d rather not be disconnected from my life line while swimming, ok, that may be a bit dramatic, but seriously.) Last spring in the newsletter we were told (read picture below)
In August of last year (2007) Kerri got to see a prototype at the AADE conference. Now, I don’t know what you think summer is in your mind, but summer in my mind ends in August. We didn’t get the Seal in time for last summer, and this summer has already begun (yes, I’m aware that summer doesn’t officially start until June 21st or something like that, but in my mind, summer begins in May).
I have no earthly what’s out there at the ADA Scientific Sessions but I have a friend out there and I told her that if she happened to see a MiniMed rep to ask them about the Seal. Because I’m curious.
